Acer saccharum is a deciduous tree which will typically grow 20m x 15m with a dense, rounded crown. Medium green leaves turn yellow-orange in autumn for spectacular colour.

Easily grown in fertile, slightly acidic, moist, well-drained soils in full sun or part shade. Grows poorly in compacted and poorly drained soils. Intolerant of salt and urban pollution.

The Sugar Maple is an excellent street tree or specimen tree for the lawn or parks with beautiful autumn color.
