Quercus phellos - Willow Oak
Native to south-eastern United States, deciduous, but in a warmer climate can be semi-evergreen. Tolerates wet soils but can be drought tolerant once established. Tolerant of heat and adaptable to tough situations such as street tree plantings. Leaves are long and willow-like, yellow in spring, bright green in summer turning a lovely golden yellow in autumn then mahogany brown. Produces acorns in autumn.
